About
700 tracks, spread over the length and breadth of America, are
being used for Dirt Track Racing which is one of the most
favorite types of car racing and which attracts more
competitors than any other motor sport.

A
large number of dirt track racing facilities are situated in
the Northland area, especially the Proctor Speedway at the St.
Louis County Fairgrounds in Proctor where all types of WISSOTA
stock cars and the grass roots Enduro Racing are extremely
popular.
All
Formula USA National Dirt Track Series events are regulated by
the following rules and regulations which have been made to
create an orderly behavior while conducting the racing events.
All participants are supposed to know these rules and comply
with the same.
Any
competitor who signs the entry form and license application
will be supposed to have agreed to the rules of this book and
any published supplements. In case of any dispute which is not
explicitly covered by these rules, the official responsible
for operation of each racing event will give the judgment
based on common sense and fair play. The decision of the
Referee and/or Race Director will be considered to be final.
Any
person entering the pit area must adhere to the following
general appearance requirements:
a.) Anybody entering the pit area must display appropriate
credentials and only properly dressed people
can enter the same.
b.) A clean and professional appearance must be presented
by all riders
and race crew.
- Whereas cut-offs, torn jeans, sleeveless shirts and open-toe
shoes are not allowed to be worn in the pit
area, those
entering must wear shirts and shoes at all times.
- Obscene material or inappropriate aphorisms
should not be exhibited on the clothes worn while one is inside the pit area.
A
round front end as shown in plan view X-5, Plate 2 is used for
mostly all-modern dirt track racing cars. 10 gauge S.A.E. 1025
steel should be used for the same. If, however, flat stock is
to be used for the side members and frame, the layout shown at
X-6, Plate 2 should be used. The frame should be formed by
bending at the dotted lines. X-2 shows one of the finished
side members and the sections X-1 and X-3 should be used for
getting an idea of the shape into which the laid-out metal, as
shown at X-6, is to be formed.

Dirt
Car Racing gives sufficient room for competition and allows
experimentation into realistic physics simulation,
tuning/upgrading vehicles and progression. Different series
from hobby stock to the most modern model class can be used
for the same. There is intense competition as in a race of 16
cars all the cars use the same physics engine with more than
100 parameters for each car. The result is that all the other
cars are racing right by your side and in this incredibly
tight racing around short circuits there is a scramble for a
position in a large number of cars. This is a unique situation
and a sport that has not happened ever before. |
